Caribbean Coast & Islands

Our tour will visit pristine islands, gorgeous historic cities listed as UNESCO world heritage places, local indigenous communities, night clubs pulsing with Latin rhythms, amazing National Parks and cosy natural isolated beaches to kick back and forget about the rest of the world.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Bogota.   Spend your first night in Colombia recovering from your long flight and taking some time to adjust to the altitude (2600 meters high). Accommodation is 3 star in a colonial hotel in the historic centre of Bogota. Breakfast included.
  • Day 2: Flamingo Sanctuary.Fly to the north coast to spend the night in a remote natural reserve. Accommodation is in basic huts. Breakfast included.
  • Day 3: Flamingo Sanctuary - Santa Marta. Get your cameras ready to take awesome shots of majestic South American flamingos. In the afternoon we'll visit a local Indian community to learn of their efforts to preserve their natural environment and indigenous culture. Transfer to Santa Marta in the afternoon to spend the night in Colombia´s oldest city.
  • Day 4: Santa Marta. Wander around in this historic colonial city, with the atmosphere of a Caribbean town combined with the madness of a South American city. We spend our second night in Santa Marta in 3 star accommodation in a central location. Breakfast included.
  • Day 5-6: Tayrona National Park. In the morning we leave for Tayrona Beach, where your breath is sure to be taken away by its natural beauty. It’s the place where the Caribbean ocean meets the deep forest and is home to ‘the best beach in South America’, as voted by the Lonely Planet. We’ll do a jungle trek.  We spend two nights here, sleeping in hammocks in front of unspoiled white beaches. Camping is also an option.
  • Day 7-8: Taganga. We stop for two nights in this small but lively town, where you can chill on the beach, go diving or party the night away with fellow travelers. Accommodation is 3 star with breakfast included.
  • Day 8-9: Rosario Islands. Bike around and enjoy the tropical bushland on this beautiful island. Kick back in front of pristine Caribbean waters. Find yourself glowing as you snorkel in a magic lake at night. The night will be spent in 3 star accommodation on a private beach. Breakfast included.
  • Day 10: Cartagena. It’s a city like no other. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time as you walk down the cobbled streets in the architectural jewel of Latin America. Accommodation is 3 star in a beautiful historic house with swimming pool inside the historic city wall area.
  • Day 11: Coveñas. Transfer to this typical Colombian holiday stopover. Enjoy the sunset while watching tropical birds at play and prepare for a big day on the islands from early next morning. 3 star accommodation. Breakfast included.
  • Day 12: San Bernardo Islands. We spend a leisurely day enjoying a cruise in a private boat, snorkeling, island hopping and a magnificent seafood lunch.  Sleep on a hammock under the stars in a secluded spot on a Caribbean island. We’ll bring all the supplies with us and cook up a barbecue feast for all to enjoy.
  • Day 13-14-15: Cartegena. Transfer back to Coveñas early in the morning for breakfast (included) and then back to Cartagena, where we’ll enjoy  a historic walking tour. There will be plenty of time to wander around the streets, piazzas and alleyways, dine in world class restaurants, shop at designer stores, or just have a drink watching the sunset over the ocean and soak up the atmosphere of this amazing city. For those that want to there will be a horse drawn carriage and a night out on the town to celebrate our final weekend. Accommodation in a beautiful 3 star historic house with swimming pool.
  • Day 16-17: Bogota Spend the last two nights in the massive and cosmopolitan capital of Colombia. Soak up the cultural scene in the colonial old quarter of the city, take part in a walking or bike tour around the city, visit museums and galleries. 3 star accommodation, in a colonial hotel in a central location, breakfast included
