Andean Highlands

– 14 Days – USD $2100

Colombia is the land where the colossal Andean Mountain Range that dominates South America splits in three, producing a vast contrast of natural sceneries - green jungle topped mountains, majestic lakes, snow covered peaks, and dry warm valleys. Here is where some of the prettiest untouched architecture seems to be frozen in time in small Spanish style towns of cobbled streets and red roofed houses.

Highlights

  • Explore El Cocuy National Park and amaze yourself with picture perfect views over the clouds
  • Visit sleepy Spanish style towns including Barichara and Villa de Leyva
  • Burn some adrenaline with adventure sports such as paragliding or white water rafting
  • Relax and enjoy the serenity at the biggest lake in Colombia

Itinerary

  • Day 1-2. Bogota. Spend two nights in the massive and cosmopolitan capital of Colombia. Soak up the cultural scene in the colonial old quarter of the city, bike around, visit museums and galleries and dance the night away. 3 star accomodation in a central location, breakfast included.
  • Day 3. Boyaca -Tota lake. Travel through the heartland of Colombian agriculture. Feel a typical Andean vibe where 19th century Colombian history comes alive. Enjoy relaxing lake views, natural spring waters and a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Lake front 3 star accommaodation. Breakfast included.
  • Day 4-8 El Cocuy National Park.  You’ll feel like the king (or queen!) of the world overlooking this view over the clouds that meet with the Andes. Camp by rivers that flow into the Amazon surrounded by a surreal moonlike landscape and go horse riding through the mountains. Camping equipment provided.

Blessed with perfect warm weather, this town offers historical bush walks to the nearby town of Guane and heaps of adventure sports to keep you busy. 3 star accommodation, breakfast included.
